Marketing Automation Platform (MAP)
A marketing automation platform (or MAP) is technology or software that automates marketing activities. Generally, it's used to perform multiple tasks at scale, such as send an email to everyone in a database, and provides detailed metrics on the performance of those tasks.
Marketing automation tools typically include a contact database that allows marketers to segment or target different audiences for different campaigns. From there, marketing teams can use a MAP for automated outreach to one or more contacts, based on a set of criteria, through email, social media, or other channels, and measure the outcomes of that outreach.
A MAP is typically managed by a company's marketing operations team.
